Complete reimplementation of Zinio’s iPad application. Used new services introduced in iOS 7 such as background downloading and Text Kit. The application is a magazine reader for single issues and subscriptions purchased through Zinio. The magazines are downloaded as encrypted PDF files that are unlocked and presented through PSPDFKit to the user. Techniques to download relevant pages progressively so the user doesn’t have to wait for the whole PDF to download were used. Unfortunately the application was never finished and released to the App store.
